Why Jimmy Carter is Hopeful

 

Jimmy Carter served as president of the United States from 1977 to 1981. In 1982, Carter and his wife, Rosalynn, founded the Carter Center, which works across the world to advance human rights and alleviate suffering. In 2002, Carter was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for his peacemaking efforts. At age 93, he teaches courses at Emory University, volunteers with Habitat for Humanity, and teaches Sundayschool at the Maranatha Baptist Church in Plains, Georgia.
