On Sunday, June 20th Manhattan Area Habitat for Humanity, along with the Methodist Church, welcomed 32 bicyclists to Manhattan. The riders were on day 33 of their 74 day, 3,835 mile journey across the U.S. raising funds and awareness for Habitat for Humanity. The group stayed June 20th-22nd at the First United Methodist Church's Harris Activity Center. The riders enjoyed their first rest day on Monday, June 21st since they began their ride. While the bikers were here, all of their meals were provided through various individuals and groups in the community. Additionally, massages were provided by American Academy of Cosmetology & Massage Therapy and Body, Mind, and Spirit. Our local Habitat chapter hosted a potluck dinner on Monday night during which nearly all of the bikers expressed the most sincere thanks for the hospitality, wonderful food, and massages. In appreciation, the team asked us to sign their cargo trailer. So, as the group travels across the U.S., there is a little message from all of us in 'The Little Apple'.
